| I, myself have the PHR/SPHR: Professional in Human Resources Certification Study Guide by Anne Bogardus (Paperback - Jan 30, 2007) which is supposed to be a great supplement book and from what I've read so far it really is. I also am studying by way of enrollment into George Mason University Prep class with the SHRM Learning System. I also have printed out the flash cards from the HRCI.org website. I'm taking my exam in january 2009 as well. Here's good luck to both of us :) |

I took the PHR certification exam this past January. I recall that a lot of the questions were related to Organizational Development/Training.
I studied for about 4 months the PHR book, by Anne Borgardus, on my own. It was very helpful.

| I did not find the Anne Bogardus book very helpful. I took the test in Jan 07 and passed. I used the SHRM learning system books and took a prep class at CPCC. I highly recommend not only the SHRM learning system but the prep class at CPCC. If you cannot take the class, join a study group. |

| Here are some links to some free practice exams on-line. A good way to prepare is to take practice exams. I hope this helps.

5 question “quick quiz” for each module/area – as well as a 200 question test. You will be advised which were correct and which were incorrect (and why) after having the exam scored. Certgear is a website that has practice exams for all of the different modules and you can get a free practice exam. Click on the PHR or SPHR link and look on the bottom right side of the web page for the free test questions.
You can also purchase the exams. I have purchased the exams already, so we can review them in class.

I am planning to take the PHR exam again in Nov 09. I appeared for the exam in Jan'09 & unfortunately couldn't crack it i referred the PHR/SPHR: Professional in Human Resources Certification Study Guide by Anne Bogardus.
