| I am thinking to take PHR exam in Spring 2009. The Shrm learning System is expensive for me because I am an International graduate student. So, I am looking for used one. Please let me know if anyone is interested in selling it to me. I can be reached at email tk-221@hotmail.co.jp Thank you. |

| Hello everyone! I am currently studying to take the PHR January 24, 2009. I am somewhat nervous, but I am working my tail off to learn as much as I can before that date! I am writing a weekly journal of my exam prep and how I am studying for the PHR exam. It should be very helpful to anyone that is preparing for the PHR.
The link for the first week (titled Preparation, Planning, and the First Assessment) is found at the following link.
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1217892/studying_for_the_phr_examweek_one.html
I am using an old HRM textbook, the PHR/SPHR Study Guide by Anne Bogardus from Amazon, and various other sources.
Good luck! |

| I just took the PHR course and failed. I studied my eyes out (took a week off work last week to study)- took the 12 week course through SHRM and even bought the two $45 tests from HRCI. I thoguht I was going to pass - I thought it was easy - I will let you know how bad I did when I see the actual results in a few weeks. Suggestions are to try to not stress out - I stressed out too much and it didnt get me anywhere. |

| Hi Everybody, I planning to take the PHR this June. I have been doing some research online and I know what to expect from the test. Could anybody advice about a good online preparation course? I can not attend classes at the college for several reasons but I am looking for efficient and reliable online course. Please let me know about your experiences. Thanks, |

| I am currently studying for the PHR exam (taking it January 24th, 2009). I am writing a series of articles detailing my studies. I write about what sources I use, the topics of the week, and other relevant places to find information on human resources. I have written 6 articles so far. If anyone is interested, check it out! Here's the link to week number 1-->

| I am planning on taking the PHR exam in June 09, what would be a good time to start studying. Should I wait until a couple of months prior or should I start now. Also taking the classes are too expensive should I get the Learning System and the book by Anne Borgadus or should just one suffice. Thanks for any advice received. |

| Hello. I also took the PHR recently and failed. It's definitely a passable exam. I studied with two individuals who took the SPHR instead of the PHR. That was probably not a wise choice since I probably focused more on the strategic end instead of the implementation end. I also have the SHRM material and I agree the questions were more difficult then the ones on test. My exam had no questions on labor laws or any of the case studies. I would be more than happy to study with anyone who may be interested. |

I am looking to buy a used, but still in good condition 2008 learning system from someone. I can't afford the new 2009 version- $675! It's horrible that they charge that much just to advance your career. If anybody has a learning system for sale from 2008, please contact me! I can pay up to $250 for good condition and including the CD and everything.

| I took the PHR exam Dec. 27, 2008 and failed. I also took it last May and failed. I have put in a lot of study time and just don't know why I have not passed. The questions are totally reworded from the study questions. I studied the Ann Bogardus book, apparently it did'nt help me. If you know of another book, please let me know. I would like to get involved with a study group, I'm located in NC. |

| Terrie,
Did you use any practice exams other than the Ann Bogardus CD? I have been using certgear's practice exams. They seem much harder than the Ann Bogrdus sample tests.
I am scheduled to take the exam on 1/15/09 and want to be prepared. I have read many posts where people who have used the Ann Bogardus book have passed. |

| Hello. I hear you. I also took the 12 weeks course through shrm. Only about 25% of what I study was actually on the test. The instructor stressed out the importance of undestanding the legal cases, and labor laws. Well I didn't have a single question on the test regarding those two items. I was expecting to have at least 2 or 3 questions on the ADDIE model, but I didn't have. I plan on taking in June of 2009. I need a study buddy. Where do you live? I still have the SHRM material and bought an additional book focusing strickly on PHR. I would be more than happy to share. |

| Yes, I took the 8 week class in Raleigh. I learned a lot, but still did not pass the PHR Exam in May or December 2008. This class provided a study guide, C.D. and audio tapes. I'm still searching for the right study guide. And I'm beginning to think a little luck would not hurt. |
