I took the test in January and failed. I seriously walked out thinking I only got 30 questions right out of 250. Those 4 hours just flew by and believe me the questions are not straight foward at all. As I walked out I blamed myself for not having spent much time, considering that I had 3 months to study, and hardly opened a book until the last 2 weeks before the test.
But my energy is back as I found out yesterday I missed the mark by 10 points. I studied only for 2 weeks, 3 hours each night and 12 hours on saturday and sunday and the only study material I used was the Guide by Anne Bogardus. My results also show that my weakest area was benefits and comp, which I have to admit I skipped those pages when I was studying. The PHR/SPHR by Anne B. is worth it. |

hello michelle (or anyone else) - if you're interested in purchasing the SHRM learning system (i had purchased this set summer of 2008), please feel free to contact me at ladyj7980@yahoo.com. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area but can ship them to you. I'd bought them for $656 directly from SHRM (I can provide receipt).
Using this system helped me pass the PHR exam which I just took a couple weeks ago on January 30th. I can also provide a copy of all of the very detailed notes that I'd taken on each of the modules. Studying the notes alone can help you pass the exam and as I'd extracted from all 6 modules all of the concepts/topics. These notes alone took me months and months to take.
As for the price, I'd be willing to sell them at half price of what I'd bought it for...I'd paid $650 so can sell them to you at $325. This includes everything that comes in the learning system plus my notes.

i just passed the SPHR with the SHRM learning system - I can sell it if anyone wants to buy it - all the critical areas are highlighted (also can have my soft copy of notes and mentoring since i took the class).

| Hi. I am set to take the PHR in June as a recent graudate. I studied in England so I have a lot of catching up to do. The failure rate is so scary. Has anyone taken the exam as a recent graduate? Are the questions the same and any advice? |

| I want to give hope to all those that took the PHR the first time and failed. I am not a good test taker and crumble under the pressure. I just took it today and passed with a huge relief... I used the Anne Bogardus which help explain some issues that aren't in the SHRM learning system.. I also took practice tests that were available online. Good luck to all who strive to achieve this monumental task.... :) |
